With the gradual mature of the industrial robots technology, the industrial robot automated production line in Chinese manufacture processing workshop has been applied more and more widely. Equipped with automated production line, the factories could effectively solve the current problems including high labor cost, low production efficiency and bad product uniformity, etc. In the automated production line, production management and control system has been an important guarantee to the automated processing.Aiming at the whole structure and background of the actual watch parts production line, the structure and operation logic of manipulators and material storage devices have been introduced, and the overall connection structure and key techniques to the silo operation control software have been put forward. After that, on the basis of the watch parts production line structure and function’s needs, the overall hierarchical structure of the silo operation control software has been designed. Furthermore, in the process of the realizing the silo operation control software’s critical modules, the HMI module has been developed by using MFC, the communication module has been implemented upon the Modbus protocol, as well as, based on file management, the operational logs module has been achieved.In addition, through designing the suitable request management method and the reasonable request action execution process, the core module of the silo operation control software, that is the material scheduling module, has been realized. After analyzing and comparing various basic request management methods, the FCFS(first come first serve) management method has been selected and improved, and the prediction function has been added to optimize this method, according to the actual characteristics of the watch parts production line. The request specific execution process has been researched, and then the action sequence of manipulators in the process of transporting materials has been designed relying on the sequential scheduling method. Combined with the results of analysis and design, in order to realize the safe and order in the automatic materials transportation, the scheduling module using the multi-thread technique has been developed.It has been proved that the silo operation control software could control the materials transportation and could plan the parallel processing of requests in the correct way, under the actual use in the watch parts production line. Besides, this software has a simple and clear interface, which is convenient to users.
