During the period of rapid urbanization, shallow mountain areas are developed as communities, especially considering the value as land, natural, and cultural resources. In the shallow mountain area, the gully landform, as one of the common suburban landform types, tends to be damaged when being developed. As a result, the environment, including the original topography, hydrology, and vegetation, would be disturbed to pose issues soil erosion, water loss, and even earthquake. Though the collection, transportation, filtration, and detention of the on-site water, sustainable stormwater management could prevent the land from negative effect. This essay takes Tsing-dao town as an example to explore the landscape design of the gully landform. Through the theory study and site analysis, the essay establishes a design method combining both stormwater management and landscape design. Stormwater management is a fundamental design of the gully form, following the gully protection and remediation principles, which summarize the effect of the landform, distribution, and other related elements. The author determines the runoff control technology and calculates the runoff quantity, through stormwater management sustainable design method and site analysis.Based on the above research, the essay established an effective stormwater management system, which fully considers and integrates the site space, circulation and future community programs. It would finally create a safe, beautiful, and interesting gully landform for the community people. In the final, the essay summarizes the strategies and design methods of the gully landform, in order to provide examples for the future development in the shallow mountain areas.
