Traditional Chinese medicine is the quintessence of China which needs to be actively inherited and promoted, and to implement remote pulse diagnose is one aspect of it. Remote pulse diagnoses technology can make it possible that the doctors interact with the device and get the real rendering feelings. Pulse simulator is that kind of human interaction device reproducing human pulses.Tri-Gaussian function approximation method is adopted based on pulse feature analysis and comparison. Electromagnetic vibrator and vibration displacement measurement module are designed and the control strategy is designed to reproduce the pulses. The hardware of pulses reproduction system mainly includes the DSP based pulse signal generator and electromagnetic vibrators that simulate the mechanical vibration of Cun, Guan and Chi of radial artery. To realize full close feedback control two vibration displacement measurement modules are developed which based on the principle of the vibrating beam strain measurement and capacitance displacement measurement respectively. PID and adaptive control algorithm are adopted and compared with sinusoidal signals and expected pulse signals as system input. Simulation results show that LMS adaptive control algorithm is superior on the control characteristics of the pulse features.Experiment results demonstrate that the developed system is capable of reproducing the typical pulse, such as wiry pulse, slippery pulse, rapid pulse and slow pulse which provides a foundation for the development of future engineering prototype.
