Low power consumption solenoid cartridge valve is a pilot valve which can drive hydraulic operated directional valve. The purpose of low power consumption is that it can built high temperature working environment. The paper designed a solenoid cartridge valve that has a 8W power consumption and simulated the steady state and dynamic state characteristics of solenoid. Then, the prototype of solenoid cartridge valve was manufactured. Lastly, the characteristics of solenoid and cartridge valve were research.This paper completed the following research works:(1)It designed a DC wet solenoid and two tee cartridge valve which have a 8W power consumption. According to the theory of solenoid design, the key parameters that have the resistance of coil、the ampere turn and so on were determined. According to the theory of directional valve design, the structure and key parameters were determined.(2)The displacement-force characteristic of 8W power consumption solenoid was got by simulating. The structure of armature and iron core was improved based on simulation result.(3)All drawings of test solenoid cartridge were designed based on simulation result. By selecting material of parts and size tolerance, the prototype of test solenoid cartridge valve was manufactured.(4)The test bench of solenoid was built. Then, the displacement-force and dynamic characteristics of DC wet solenoid were tested. Lastly, the conclusion was obtained by comparing the simulation result with the test result.(5)The test bench of two tee cartridge valve was built. Then, the pressure-flow characteristic was tested. The test result validate the correction of the theory design. Then, the pressure response characteristic was obtained by testing.
