With years’ renovation, museums in Paris have involve lots of functions beside the traditional exhibition function, such as education, shopping, leisure, communication, etc. which combine together and make vivid museum life. On one hand, functions of museums reach to people’s life, on the other hand city life come into the buildings. Museums with high activation and wide participation are leading the trend of cultural architecture and show the real responsibility of cultural architecture.In order to analyze function complex of non-exhibitive public space of museums in Paris, this essay not only focus on the material space itself, but also study the humanities, the region of Paris. First of all, use the first hand resources to explain the social function of Paris’ museums based on the phenomenological theory and describe the behavior of people in the museum based on the first hand records. Secondly, by drawing the plans of each museum, analyze the function and space pattern of non-exhibitive public space of the museums. Also, study the area of the museums that located, and discuss the service roles that the museums are playing. Otherwise, objectively evaluate the vitality of the space, and summarize the characteristic of function complex of non-exhibitive public space of museums in Paris. Finally, combine the practice in the projects of museums to talk about applying and thinking this study, and have a look at the future of museums design in China, as well as think about the strategies of design.
