Research On The IPD Mode Based On BIM Technology

In recent years, the construction projects have varied much and information technology has developed rapidly, which raised the standard of sustainable development of construction project to a higher level. The emergence of BIM technology improved the working efficiency of the construction project to a great extent. But due to the traditional project delivery mode, participates involved in the project integrate little, moreover, they get serious information asymmetry and interest conflicts, BIM technology cannot give full play to the advantages. Traditional project delivery mode also seriously affected the improvement of project benefit and management level. Engineering construction market needs to innovate project delivery mode, project delivery mode should develop to the highly integration, i.e. collaborative design and construction.Integrated Project Delivery(IPD) is a delivery mode develops from traditional mode, which provides method and solution to the existing problems. The IPD mode can make it to integrate the project participants, form cross-functional teams. The IPD mode also realize the collection, management, exchange, update, storage and integrates project information; what’s more, it helps different participants exchange and share information during the project life cycle to achieve the purpose of collaborative decision making and lean construction.BIM technology provides each participant of IPD mode in the communication collaboration platform, and the IPD mode creates environment to maximize the value of BIM technology. Both of which have mutual promotion and complementary relationship.In this thesis, organization structure, the transmission of information, contract relation, and interest distribution of IPD mode based on BIM were studied respectively from two aspects of project management mode and contract mode. The rights and obligations of the participants and the application of BIM technology issues were cleared. The information transfer model of construction project was built. The method to calculate the target cost and the benefit distribution principle were put forward. Team cooperation, model Standard, incentive problems and risks in executing the IPD mode based on BIM were discussed. At last, a case was selected, summarized some problems existing in the traditional delivery mode, and to be solved in the IPD mode based on BIM, the advantages of applying IPD mode based on BIM were pointed out.In the IPD mode based on BIM, the exchange and sharing of information are promoted, and the construction management level and management efficiency are improved. But the application of the mode in China is is facing many challenges, such as the law and technology, the promotion of the IPD mode based on BIM needs efforts from all circles.
