Nowadays, the shortage of resource and the deterioration of environment make the requirement of zero-leakage and zero-release on enterprises. Mechanical seal, as the main shaft seal in the industrial production equipment, providing guarantee for the leakproofness of the equipment on the one hand and consuming shaft power due to the friction and wear on the other hand. Therefore, the right end face specific pressure and materials have being sought by people constantly to reduce the friction power consumption so as to lengthen their service life and ensure the tightness of mechanical seal. However, whether the seal material matches well or not, or the end face specific pressure being appropriate or not are reflected intensively by the size of the friction torque of the end face. Therefore, it is significant to seek more accurate way to measure friction torque for assuring the tightness and service life of mechanical seal.The development of torque measuring sensor at home and abroad and the present conditions of the friction torque measuring methods were analyzed and the new type of friction torque measuring methods that placed the transmission pin between the main shaft and shaft sleeve and calculated the friction torque by measuring the pressure on the drive pin wall were proposed in this dissertation. An end torque wireless measurement system as a practical demonstration combined with the resistance strain sensor technology with 2.4 GHz RF wireless transmission scheme based on the theory of the measurement method was also designed in this dissertation. Hardware, such as the power conditioning circuit, sensor signal amplification circuit, wireless data transceiver module and interface circuit of microcontroller etc. were designed to satisfy the special requirements of signal collection and transmitting terminal size design. Labview virtual instrument technology was used in PC side to programme, realizing the real-time data display, process, storage and call, improving the degree of intelligence and reducing the use-cost of hardware resource.Compared with experiment tests, results showing that, the new friction torque measurement device not only can achieve the real-time collection, transmission and display of the torque value accurately, but also has higher accuracy than the old friction torque measuring method that the platform used before.
