Prefabricated composite shear wall with concrete filled steel tube columns is a new building structure system that suitable for industrial production and field connection, which is proposed by Hebei United University researchers. It is developed based on requirements of building energy saving and housing industrialization, which is suitable for high-rise housing. The new structure uses joints to make the prefabricated panels connected, so the steel tube columns and the concrete panel can bear seismic action together. The seismic behavior of joints and the structure system are the key points for its application. To meet the architectural requirements, shear wall is always opened. The openings will have a significant impact on the seismic behavior of the wall.In order to study the seismic performance of this new structure containing opening, a low cycle loading test was conducted on three specimens, which have the same opening area and are in different eccentricity of 0,0.3,0.6.The results indicated that this new structure with opening should be designed according to the tensile strength of steel tube rather than yield strength, when the steel tube doesn’t have obvious yielding step. The small wall-column of this new structure with opening will be prematurely damaged, when the height difference of two wallcolumn sections is more than 3 times. The opening shouldn’t be arranged at the side of structure in the engineering design. The new structure with same opening area(≤15%)and different eccentricity of opening had the mode of the whole wall bending-shear failure in common. The specimens with eccentricity of 0 and 0.3 have the similar good anti-seismic properties, but the specimen with eccentricity of 0.6 has the worse antiseismic properties. When acting load on different directions, the change of opening location causes difference on bearing capacity, shear stiffness and ductility. When acting load near the opening, the bearing capacity will increase, but the shear stiffness and ductility will decrease, and vice versa. The simplified mechanical model of bearing capacity was given, when this new structure with opening was damaged as the whole wall.
