Abstract/Summary:
Steel frame filled reinforced concrete shear wall(SRCW)is a new structuresystemcomposed of a steel frame and a reinforced concrete shear wall through shear connectors, which possess large stiffness, lateral strength, and the advantage of flexible arrangement. It is an economical system to resist lateral force. The steel frame of SRCW provides some restraint to reinforced concrete slab, that forces the concrete slab work in synergy. The steel frame can resist vertical loads and most overturning moments, the concrete slab resists most horizontal shear forces, and the infilled RC shear wall significantly increases the structural lateral stiffness while reducing the seismic requirements of steel frame. In this paper, based on the ABAQUS software, the finite element model of SRCW with and without square opening on reinforced concrete slab is built, and the elastoplastic analyses of the response of SRCW under monotonic horizontal load are performed. The cooperative working mechanism and the shear bearing capacity of the components in the SRCW,and the effects of design parameters of the reinforced concrete slab with square opening, are studied.Based on the finite element simulation results, the shear wall’s opening rate, the opening position, the span to height ratio of the reinforced concrete shear wall, and the shear distribution between the concrete and steel bar are analyzed. The formulas for the ultimate shear capacity of SRCW with and without square openings are proposed, respectively.
