As a new environmentally friendly renewable material, the basalt fiber is drawn from natural basalt at a high temperature. Its excellent properties in the field of environmental protection, fire insulation and infrastructure have already been fully reflected. And it begin to take shape in the aspect of road engineering as well,.However, the research is only focused on a particular aspect or some aspects but not a complete summary of the induction system research. Through the mechanism of aging from a mixture of the fibers in the asphalt to the basalt fiber asphalt, this paper makes a series of preliminary experimental study of theory to reflect the excellent and extensive basalt fiber applications in asphalt concrete pavement.In this paper, the study of AC-13 asphalt mixture after incorporation of basalt fiber content was carried out as follows:1. Based on a large number of documents, this paper makes direct shear tests on basalt fiber asphalt mastic, and evaluates the effect of fiber orientation mechanism from the aspect of shear strength theory.2. On the basis of the existing grading on the asphalt mixture with different mass percentage(0, 0.2%, 0.3%, 0.4%, 0.5%, 0.6%) of the fibers, it made Marshall test to determine the Best Whetstone asphalt mixture ratio among different dosage, then got the composition design of basalt fiber asphalt mixture.3. The different mass percentage(0, 0.2%, 0.3%, 0.4%, 0.5%, 0.6%) of the fibers were added to the mix asphalt pavement performance test(high-temperature test, low temperature test and water stability test) to get performance indicators under different dosages, and according to these indicators to analyze and assess the impact of basalt fiber performance with the right path, then ultimately determine the optimum amount of fiber asphalt mixture of basalt fibers. And after making static and dynamic modulus tests and fatigue tests on optimum fiber content of basalt fiber asphalt, it showed that the basalt fiber can improve the asphalt mixture modulus, and greatly improve the fatigue life.4. In accordance with the relevant test procedures, through the experiment method of indoors aging asphalt pavement to simulate road after aging properties, this paper gets the changing trend of the road performance of the mixture before and after aging with aging time by taking a different aging time to reflect the actual road unaged, short-term and long-term aging of the aging process. After camparing the best fiber and fiber content of the asphalt mix undoped aging test results, this paper makes the conclusion that the basalt fiber has a significant inhibitory effect on the aging of asphalt mixture.
