After the suspension bridge completed and open to traffic, cable system will be gradually damaged as time go on, mainly because of the changing external environment and the increasingly heavy traffic. Therefore, it is necessary to detect and maintain the cable system of suspension bridge on a regular basis by the bridge main push and towing rope checking car. In the process of operation, in order to avoid the bridge main push and towing rope checking car will be damaged by the track, it is important to make sure higher synchronization performance of the two tracks. The synchronization performance of double pump and double motor synchronization system is the key factors affecting the ‘bridge main push and towing rope checking car’, s performance and work efficiency.For the sake of solving the difficult problem of the two tracks synchronous driving, the scheme of double pump and double motor synchronization system is proposed after analysis the actual situation. That means, it rely on one pump-motor system as an active system to control another pump-motor system.Firstly, the hydraulic-walking system design of the two crawlers is accomplished. The selection of the main hydraulic components system is achieved, based on the specific requirement. Secondly, by analyzing the double pump-motor synchronization control system, the mathematical model of main components is established, and the main parameters of the system is determined. Finally the simulation model of the hydraulic system is established in AMESim software. Through the AMESim analysis, the PID control method is compared with the control method without the PID controller. The simulation results show that the PID controller not only improve the performance of the pump-motor system, but also reduce the synchronization error, good control effect and have satisfied the design requirement.
