Masonry structure is a kind of structure form what has a long history of application, and is still the commonly used presently.it is common not only because of its good durability,good chemical stability and atmospheric stability, but also because it is easy to obtain materials from local sources in the process of building, which can reduce the project cost. But masonry structure has its own insufficient, and seismic performance being poor is one of them. We need to improve the seismic performance of the masonry structure.To enhance or strengthen masonry structure is two kinds of commonly methods to improve the seismic behavior of the masonry structure.Masonry strengthening is general aimed at the existing buildings, what is either in low bearing capacity after long using or in bearing capacity caused by unsafe falling after a disaster.But in either case, strehgthened masonry can be hard to avoid the phenomenon of the secondary stress. Masonry enhancement is usually aimed at the new building or the reconstruction of the building, what requires that at the beginning of a masonry buildings designing,we has to consider the enhancement of the seismic performance. This not only can avoid the phenomenon of the secondary stress, but also does not affect the masonry section area.Reinforced masonry is a kind of methods to enhance masonry,and it has been a certain scale of research and application both in abroad and at home, and the related specifications or the guild regulations are quite perfect.So provides us the solid theory foundation. What we have to study is that we use the basalt fiber grid(BFG) what is one of the high performance and high quality materials in a similar form of the mesh reinforcement brick masonry on the porous brick masonry to study its effect on the seismic performance.Our group have built 4 pieces of masonry test walls,so the unenhanced wall ang the wall enhanced by CBF unidirection fabic are the contrasting wall,and the wall enhanced by BFG between two skin or between four skin is the test piece.. The experimental result shows that the arrangement of BFG in the mortar can make a significant inhibition on the development ofthe masonry cracking, and improve the integrity and ductility of the structure; In the process of the masonry mechanical damage,BFG in the mortar can make significant inhibition to masonry cracking.According to the analysis of energy consumption,BFG can increase the energy dissipation capacity of masonry,and the improvement is effect by the BFG arrangement.Compared with the wall enhanced by CBF unidirection fabic,BFG enhancement is much better.All in all, BFG used in the form which is similar to mesh reinforced brick masonry can enhance the brick masonry seismic performance.
