With the increasing of population aging, people in growing numbers are paying attention to osteoporosis. As there is still no effective way to cure this disease, it is very necessary to predict and efficiently prevent people from getting it. Ultrasound can be used to measure bone mineral density, which has been proved to have born good predictive effects. For its low testing fees, the uninvasive, safe and portable,Ultrasound bone mineral density tester has been more and more widely put into practical uses.Having solid foundation in the study of the theory of ultrasound, our laboratory is much experienced in the study of the principles and means of ultrasound bone mineral density measuring. As the hardware of circuit and the software of programming are gradually developing, there is an urgent need to test the validity of circuit design and ultrasound theory according to the test on the design of the bone mineral density tester’ s structure. For all the reasons mentioned above, this article is mainly on the work of the design of the bone mineral density tester’s structure and its testing.The thesis is based on the design of the machinery structure of the ultrasound bone mineral density tester, and achievements are as follows:1. completing of the ultrasound probe transmission module, pressure sensing module, leg rest module and outer covering module;2. completion of generator controlling module, pressure controlling module, single-chip processor controlling module and so forth;3. a preliminary study on the influences of temperature on the measurement of bone mineral density.Based on the hardware of circuit and the software of programming, we have succeeded in making a prototype of the ultrasound bone mineral density tester. The results generally conform to our intended requirements after experiments and data analyses.
