With the rapid development of nuclear industry, the application of nuclear industry robot becomes more extensive, and the question that how to deal with the nuclear scrap has received great attention around the world. Because of the special property of the nuclear waste, scientists believe the most reasonable processing method is to solidify them before landfill. The earliest and proven solidification technology is the cement solidification, which has been applied to nuclear power plants in many countries. To ensure the safety of the nuclear waste disposal, its whole process needs to be worked automatically.The automatic opening and covering device that discussed in this article is the key part of the disposal of nuclear waste. This device is a principled sample machine designed based on the actual production needs of the customer, powered by AC servo motor, and it uses PLC as the controller of the whole control system to coordinate with the hardware system such as motion controller, digital laser sensor, torque sensor etc. It can execute the action of opening and covering waste barrels. In terms of the software,the feasibility and maneuverability of the automatic opening and covering device software system are significantly improved due to its concise and friendly man-machine interface.The main contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly, this article analyses the research status of the automatic opening and covering device, comes up with design scheme, software system process, the entire functional requirements and technical parameter for the system’s entire functional requirement, and designs the schematic diagram of software system control.Secondly, this article introduces 3D modeling, hardware selection and the main parameters of each part of hardware in detail, and describes the mechanical design of the key technique.Thirdly, the control program of opening and covering device is modularly designed,and its implementation progress has been elaborated. The software system modular can be divided into several parts: opening modular, covering modular, motion controller modular, data processing modular and man-machine interface.Finally, after a series of system debugging and testing, the automatic opening andcovering device mentioned in this article has been verified, and it complies with the design requirement, and can operate safely and reliably.
