Low-cost aircrafts attitude measurement has long been an issue of great interest in aircraft navigation at home and abroad. Gyroscopes are usually installed on modern aircrafts, but subject to various restrictions, gyroscopes can’t be applied to a variety of circumstances, which prompted people to do research about attitude measuring techniques of Gyro-less aircrafts. As the study on the polarization of electromagnetic wave are more and more mature, the research about attitude measurement by using polarized electromagnetic wave has become a hot topic. This is a new method and train of thought and it has a wide application prospect. The techniques of measurement have been gradually widely applied to many fields such as radar, wireless communications, seismic exploration and so on.In this paper, setting the rotating motion of an aircraft as the research object, the research about attitude measurement of rotating aircraft by using polarized electromagnetic wave has been completed. For the research of whole system, setting the functional requirements of system as the starting point, the important technical parameters of system are pointed out, and the overall design of system selected including RF receiving front-end and MCU processing design. In RF circuit, firstly, the index distribution of receiving circuit is completed, and simulation is accomplished by the professional software; secondly, the specific realization circuit is fulfilled including a microstrip receiving antenna, the local oscillator of VCO, the band-pass filter, the amplifier, IF processing circuit and so on, simulations finished by the professional software, and circuits and cavity drawn by using the professional drawing software; lastly, testing and debugging of each part are completed by using the spectrum analyzer and signal source instruments, and results are analyzed. In MCU processing, dsPIC33FJ128GP804 of Microchip is used as the core controller, the system initialization design and interruption service program accomplished, and the hardware circuits are drawn by using the circuit software. Based on the program, combining the hardware circuits and software design, the tests of whole system are completed. Through this study, experience is summarized and methods of improvement are pointed out in the research.The system has the characteristics of low cost, miniaturization, and high stability. The realizing method of MCU data processing module has the characteristics of quick recognition speed, low cost, small volume. The performance of system could meet the requirements, and it has a certain application value.
