Material Testing Machine can be used for many mechanical experiments such as tension, compression and bending of metal and nonmetal materials. With increasing automation level, the old-fashioned hydraulic universal testing machine can no longer meet the requirements of modern measurement. If the control system of Material Testing Machine is updated, its demand of intellectualization, precision and automation can be met, which is of great practical significance.This paper mainly introduces how to reform the control system of an old-fashioned hydraulic universal testing machine. On the basis of the analysis of domestic and foreign material testing machines, focusing on the characteristics of the control system of the testing machine, the paper formulates the corresponding transformation parameters and designs the overall reconstruction scheme of the control system which is based on STC MCU.This paper introduced the method of the transformation of Hydraulic Universal Testing Machine Measurement and Control System. It can detect the variable quantity of oil pressure by installing pressure sensor on the oil circuit, and it can detect the displacement and deformation by installing displacement sensor and extensometer on the machine. The system can control the flow by electro-hydraulic proportional technique and designed hardware system and software system with STC MCU.Based on the integral reform project of measurement and control system, this paper discussed the type selection and working principle of displacement sensor, pressure sensor and extensometer, and then it introduced hardware circuit which include power circuit, signal processing circuit, A/D sampling circuit, data storage circuit, human-computer interaction system circuit and so on, and then it designed the matching software system; It designed higher computer software system with LAB VIEW, and provided detailed flowchart; It also expounds the related principle of electro-hydraulic proportional valve and design of control scheme, and mathematical model is studied.To transform the old-fashioned hydraulic universal testing machine into a modern digital one improves its usability, which is proved through experiments. Besides, after being transformed, the testing machine realizes digitization, achieving the purpose of reusing old equipment.
