High-temperature butterfly is a kind of regulating valve relying on wing structure plate revolved in the cylindrical valve body for opening and closing, which commonly used in petroleum catalytic cracking devices that inner temperature is higher than 450 ℃. Investigations on stress state, flow field performance, characteristic calculations, test apparatus design of high temperature butterfly valve on the operating conditions, were addressed. The main contents and conclusions of this paper are listed as follows:Temperature distribution and stress state of valve plate and seat which includes 100 and 80 mm thermal insulation layer were studied based on the Thermal structure coupling method. The strength of seat with different rib plates placed were discussed. The results indicated that distribution of temperature is uniform and the equivalent stress is small around seat shell. Besides, the bearing capacity on seat is higher when the rib plate placed in slant if only the internal pressure of valve is considerated.Flow performance of high-temperature butterfly valve was simulated by CFD technology. The conclusions presented that there are two high-speed flow area existed in upper and lower edge of plate. Negative pressure zone was formed on the marginal of sealing surface and eddy current would be emerged on the rear of valve when opening is small.According to the theory of design formulas, The CV valve, range of torque, leakage are obtained by calculating particularly.The high temperature butterfly valve test device was designed and the high temperature performance of lubricating oil was tested as well. The results showed that the highest temperature of oil only can be heated up to 301℃, which is far away from expected temperature.Two reliable mediums were found and the high temperature butterfly valve test devices were designed based on those mediums respectively. The results showed that molten salt is the only optional high temperature liquid medium while hot air is the best test medium when chosen.
