With the development of China’s industrial modernization level and the continuous development of electronic information technology, electric motors are widely used in various fields of national industry. However, the BLDC motor can generate the torque ripple at the time of operation, which has a great influence on the stability and safety of the motor. The main research of this paper is to study the method of restraining the torque ripple of the BLDC motor. The feasibility and correctness of this method is verified by building the hardware and software platform of the system.This paper describes the structure and mathematical model of brushless DC motor and describes the working principle of brushless DC motor. Then, the paper builds a model of the BLDC motor system and verifies the simulation in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. The core controller of hardware design is the dsPIC33FJ128MC706A digital signal processor of Microchip. Both the powerful data processing ability of the product and the rich peripheral are beneficial for the system design and delay for the control algorithm. The display circuit of ATmegal16 chip is selected, the IPM module of the Fuji Corp is chosen as the driving circuit, and Holzer signal acquisition module is designed. This paper focuses on the torque ripple of BLDC motor, and discusses the phenomenon, cause and classification of torque ripple of BLDC motor. This paper describes the BLDC motor torque ripple effects caused by the PWM modulation and the BLDC motor optimization method to suppress the torque ripple. This paper uses the control strategy of the time delay commutation to suppress the torque ripple. The core idea of this method is that it is not closed at the time of the power winding, and continues to power.Through the theoretical analysis and summary, the optimization method of the time delay commutation optimization method for the torque ripple of the BLDC motor is carried out. This paper uses MPLAB IDE Microchip software development platform, with C language programming, modular programming. Finally, through observing the oscilloscope of the normal phase commutation and time delay phase commutation optimization method of phase current waveform, and comparing the obtained by delay commutation to the correctness and feasibility of the torque ripple suppression. At last, this paper obtains the correctness and feasibility of using the time delay commutation by comparing the phase current waveform.
