In recent years, to develop a low-carbon economy and promote a conservation culture and achieve sustainable development is our consensus of human society. As an important part of energy supply, power grid is vital for the development of clean energy, so its development patterns is also facing a great challenge and a massive decision. The smart grid is the major issue proposed for the global crises in energy sourcesand environment, to strive to establish a cleaner and a more effective and a more reliable electricity generation mode. The core concepts of smart grid is to promote the intelligent level of power grid by making use of modern information communication techniques, industrial control techniques and other advanced techniques, to provide a safe, reliable, economic, effective and sustainable energy supply.Smart power utilization service is an important part of the Smart Grid power utilization aspect, and it is the an important tool to realize the real-time interactive response between the power grid and the users, enhance the multi-service capabilities of power grid, meet the needs of interactive marketing and improve its service level. For the further research of the key technology of intelligent residence based on optical fiber composite low-voltage electric cable(OPLC) fiber-to-the-home(FTTH), there are 14 provincial power companies led by State Grid Information&Telecommunication Co.,Ltd. participate in this research to explore and research the standards and specifications related to PFTTH. Shijiazhuang Power Supply Company is also chosen as one of participating offices, so we actively carry out the research of PFTTH and intelligent residence, then we establish the experiment plot in Shijiazhuang. Combined with the process of this research closely, make the experimental research of new technology and new equipment. Testing and verifying the research results, accelerating the practical of the research results conversion will not only benefit the related research of Smart Grid, and also beneficial to enhance the construction of intelligent residence of Shijiazhuang, to create a win-win situation.With the EPON technology getting more ore and more matured and substantial decline in prices began to scale business, we believe that fiber access network will be widely deployed in the future driven by high bandwidth demand and high traffic volume. This paper analyses the current situation of broadband access networks domestic and abroad, focusing on the EPON access technology. It gives a detailed introduction on the concept of access network, how it works, and network model of EPON technology.This paper will provide EPON access network design for the construction of intelligent residence of Shijiazhuang Yingbinyuan residence community, detailing the Optical cable routing and technology indictors for key equipment(OLT and ONU). By taking practical business planning and current netwoek mode into consideration, the paper according to the actual business arrangement in order to prove the performance, the application of EPON in broadband access network to the user, and combine the PFTTX system network model discussed earlier, the proposed cell PFTTH access case analysis, detailed service configuration process zone PFTTH networking scenarios. The work of this paper can provide basis and practical experiences to other similar design for access network.
