The feed coal detection is an integral part of the fuel management in coal-fired power plants. In practice, the coal detection records not only provides a guarantee for the safe operation, but also provides basis of data for coal-fired power plant valuation, settlement and blending coal. With the development of information technology, the management of the feed coal detection is not suitable for the development of coal-fired power plants, and some shortcomings exist in the management of coal detection, such as poor accuracy and reliability of the detection data, heavy workload for the staff and low efficiency. Therefore, designing a fuel intelligent detection platform for coal-fired power plants is an inevitable trend of fuel management, which involves a series of processes, such as feed coal weighing, sample collection, sample preparation, sample detection and so on.First, based on a full investigation and study on the development of fuel management in coal-fired power plants, a detailed requirement analysis was performed for fuel intelligent detection platform from functional requirements and non-functional requirements, combining with the real demand and business process of coal-fired power plants. Based on Rational Rose modeling tool, a use case model diagram of the platform is established using UML. Second, according to the requirement analysis on the platform, the statistic model and the dynamic model of the platform were visually modeled using UML, and the main entity class diagrams, sequence diagrams, state diagrams, activity diagrams were drawn based on the detailed analysis and design of the system architecture and database. Finally, the platform is realized by programming on Visual Studio 2010 MFC platform, based on Oracle10.0g as the database management system. In this platform, the main modules were implemented, such as feed coal weighing, sample collection, sample preparation, sample detection and so on, and their functions are described in detail. The key technology of implementation includes vehicle identification based on RFID technology, three-level coding based on barcode technology, and data communication based on Web Services technology.The platform improves the efficiency of data processing, avoids the man-made errors and frauds in data acquisition, and decreases the cost of enterprise management and resource consumption. It is worth popularizing and applying to fuel intelligent management in coal-fired power plant.
