Limestone-gypsum wet flue gas desulfurization technology is the main flue gas purification technology. It is widely used domestic and foreign because it has a lot of advantages over the other techniques. It has ahigher desulfurization efficiency, sophisticated equipment and technology, and it can operate stably. The gas-gas heater(GGH)has been widely used in the desulfurization system as an important energy conversion site and temperature control part. With the long-term operation of GGH it has exposed many problems such as corrosion and scaleformation, then the rationality of the GGH gradually attracts the attention of the experts and scholars. This paper firstly illustrate the function of GGH in wet desulphurization system of coal-fired power plants. And then many malfunctions andproblems of the GGH is analyzed in detail. It pointed out that the stability of the running GGH has a big effect on desulphurization system. And Secondly the technical feasibility and economic applicability is analyzed about coal-fired power plants WFGD system cancel the GGH. Through the numerical simulation of pressure field, flow rate field and temperature field of the desulfurizing tower before and after WFGD system canceling the GGH by using FLUENT software, the influence of GGH on the WDGD system is discussed from the perspective of theoretical calculation. The results show thatflue gas condition change appears to cause a decline in the desulfurization efficiency after the WFGD system canceling GGH. The reduction of desulfurization efficiency can be prevent by taking the necessary measures. Finally based on the issue about lifting height of the flue gas which is obviously affect by the GGH, the situation about the influence of flue gas pollutants with and without GGH is discussed in this paper.
