In the strong context "globalization", the contemporary culture has already merge into every aspect of human society. In developing country, globalization brings in not only new construction material and latest construction technology, but also cutting-edge design philosophy and modern style. In the New-type Urbanization of China, the drive of commercial benefit results in the damage, demolition and destruction of numerous traditional cultural buildings. This impact is severer than ever. It becomes a pressing issue to find out how to maintain traditional culture, protect traditional building and keep the succeeding line of history and culture against the strong context "globalization".In the book "Study On Chinese Common people residenee" Mr.Sun mentioned that "Common people residence is the most early appeared architeetural type, and is the most construeted architectural type." Traditional building of China is a key part of it. The forming and development of residence building are influenced by the geography and cultural environment and policy at that time, etc. Therefore residence building reflects its territory feature and also the characteristic of nation, classes and culture to a certain extent. It is the most apparent proof to the study of material fro residence building material and construction skills and also an "living specimen" to the study of traditional building and historical culture.To the south of Sha River, Ye’s Manor is located in the Dengcheng Town, Zhoukou City, Henan province. Ye’s Manor is one of the most impressive residence building groups of Qing Dynasty in good condition in Henan province. The manor is typical Quadrangle Dwellings of Qing Dynasty. It’s featured in a tighten outskirts and loose interior. There is a lot of elegant carvings made of stone, brick and wood in Chi head, plinth, truss and roof. It is an important physical evidence for studying the residence building of Qing Dynasty with its exquisite appearance and artistic structure. Writer has made a comprehensive analysis and study of Ye’s Manor through on-site visit, interviewing residents and tourists, collecting documents from local administration, chorography and internet and description by figure and text. The first part of the thesis sets the significance of this study on the research and protection value of Ye’s Manor, describing the research status of other manors in China and emphasizing the shortcoming of research on Ye’s Manor; The second part starts with the analysis and study of environmental and cultural factors in building the Ye’s Manor, elaborating its historical background and data and revealing the original overview and current situation of Ye’s Manor; The third part makes a professional analysis of architectural form of Ye’s Manor. To acquire a more comprehensive study data, it focus on the architectural structure and carving art after summarizing its architectural characteristic; In the end, it highlights the significance of protection of traditional residence building on account of the protecting policy of cultural heritage and comes up with proposals to the problems in the protection of Ye’s Manor. |
