Substation Locating is an important part of power system planning, for the reason that substations are power source-points to the lower-level power grids and power load-points to higher-level power grids and power plants. In order to guarantee both the rationality in power grid construction and reliability in power grid operation, substation locating becomes a very important content in the course of power transmission and transformation projects. The aim of substaion locating is to select the optimal locations to substaions by means of scientific planning. The thesis firstly introduces the related theory and computing courses of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), which will be the theoretic basis of following study of substation locating. Then it depicts the baisc princpiples and related considering factors in the course of substation locating, and implements the load forcasting for TangShan city and related Caofeidian developemnt zone based on analyzing the current power load situation, which is to explain why it is necessary to build 220kV substation in Caofeidian. Finnaly, the thesis proposes an AHP-base substation locating algorithm based on the related feasible analysis, which converts the multiple-objective optimization of substation locating involving several factors to the AHP optimization including several hierarchy weights. The proposed algorithm converts the complex factors-relations into the simple conditions in substation-locating AHP model, which may fully consider multiple related factors. By means of the hierarchy-weight operations to compromise the factors, the proposed algorithm can achieve a better result in the course of substation locating, which has been demonstrated by an analysis of a case study.
