With the acceleration of urbanization and a large number of rural migration, many traditional villages faced an embarrassment disappeared or have disappeared, causing great loss of traditional cultural, especially the minorities who lived in. Since April 2012, the nation has started a nationwide research and review, due to the imminent demise of the villages, in order to make field research and collect data to created basic information file for villages and worked out protection and development planning for each traditional village.The thesis is based on the traditional village protection and renewal research that under the above background. Documents find that the village protection and renewal planning began late and lacked complete theory system and explicit protection mode. There are imperfect measures and fragmented strategies, also. Comparing the protection and development of the domestic and abroad traditional village problems and 10 villages in central Yunnan field research problems reflected to research the protection and inheriting, village renewal measures. While affirming the results of previous studies, using 4 cases work to solve the traditional village protection and update issues and preliminary exploring the traditional village’s protection updates and proposal some principles and concrete measures to follow.Depending on the elements of the value judgements to classify the maesyres, protection, inheriting and renewal, inhencement the impemntation, instead of copy the urban planning methods and abandoned the former village planning content which is little contacting. meanwhile, establishment the laws and regulaitons as soon as quilckly and cultivating the inheritors of intangible culture, which is in order to return local society and the local people involved in lifestyle, meanwhile, raising the overall protection and activation using and the importance of the scientific management.
