A Study Of Co-construction Strategy About Architecture Space Form In The Scope Of Topography

With the high speed economic development and urbanization process in China, construction project has been expanded from downtown to outer ring of city, some even expanded from the flat land to complex terrain in mountainous region or non-intensive city zones, which lead to the rise in difficulty and complexity in design. More and more Architecture has been built by mass production at the cost of environment and so that professional is always pay close attention to the relationship between building and topography. The paper first analyzed and sorted related references and case studies, based on expanded topography theory、physical characteristics of random natural terrain and People’s behavior, discussed design strategy about architectural space form production. Then discussed how to coordinate the relationship between landscape, environment and site meanwhile keep its form responding its surroundings and humanity, then discussed how to create expressive space and shape using that thought, and finally conceived a "Co-construction" style of architecture-site tectonic thought about how architecture and its surroundings combined together.The paper is structured by 4 sections:in section 1:I reviewed and sorted the evolution process of the "Co-construction" form of terrain and architecture, and summed up the different attitude toward terrain strategy, goal and final space form. then according to 4 primitive relationships between architecture and terrain(underneath the terrain, in the terrain, on the terrain above the terrain)by Steven Holl and analyzed large amount of case studies, then rethink about its concrete problems. Section 2 analyzed the phenomenon of united design in china, and trying to find the topology characteristics of these design strategies by studying how these native architects develop their united design.n section 3 I describe characteristics of natural terrain by expanded mapping in the topologic theory and discuss in means of finding entity properties in natural terrain, natural factor and human behavior properties, in order to summarize different types of union type of architecture and site. In section 4 I use the expanded topologic theory, mapping systematically discoursed the union process of architecture "Co-construction" process, and finally summarized operation method of architecture space morphology in natural terrain in different type. At the same time, under the macroscopic scale operation of the topography put forward revelation.By systematically sort and analyze these studies I remind us being active to mining and using creeping characteristics of site, to process space, environmental intention, place constructing well, thus to summarize a "Co-construction" form tectonic pattern of architecture concerning architecture, site, landscape harmoniously, and wish this paper archived as some additional cases and helpful study result in the field of expanded topography study.
