With the impact of economic wave spread all over the world, China has boosted its modernization process, which followed by the rising of manufactory industry. The contemporary construction has become a management method with high controlling force, monopolistic and gradually lead to the escaping of local construction system. However, this professional, institutional construction method has brought many problems in: it separated constructor and user thereby the construction action has been away from daily life; architects got far away from construction process thus they ignored tectonic expressing to a specific site. These problem have led to the defect of contemporary architecture theory. In such a background, it is important to take a serious study on native construction system in order to theorize its excellent quality and intelligent and make it as a solution to improve contemporary construction system and propelling the development of study in contemporary architecture theory.Firstly, based on a mass amount of local investigation and interview to local carpenter, this paper record the observation to the Chinese style self-construction folk dwelling system in detail, and made some theoretical study and analysis. These record provided some valuable materials to Jianshui local dwelling construction or future folk dwelling study, and can be served as inspiration source for architecture quality and construction intelligence.Secondly, in the perspective of phenomenon consideration, this paper discovered traditional carpenter construction thoughts in Jianshui area thus initiating some thoughts on contemporary construction thinking.Thirdly, by setting up an issue of "system model", "a pattern language" and "local architecture construction system", the paper dig hard for the essential mechanism of Chinese style folk dwelling in Jianshui.Fourthly, by analyzing and elaborating the controlling of architecture form, substantial technology and the sign, this paper refined the control commandment of Chinese style folk dwelling of Jianshui.Thought the research of three aspects that the construction thoughts, the essential mechanism and the control commandment to extract the corresponding summary and reflection, and the revelation of theory and conception of contemporary design, the thought of standardization and non-standardization, the construction mechanism in the government guidance. This is the main part and the most significant feature and contribution of the paper.In the studying process, the paper introduced contemporary architecture theory, architecture ontology, construction and tectonic theory and so on then compared them to folk dwelling theory, and discussed in a various of perspective on folk architecture construction. The aim is to call a return to architecture methodology which is about "daily life","construction process", "expression to artistry" and so on, thus call up the excellent traditional intelligence of traditional artisan and local construction system, and finally bring an evolution at the level of architecture design operation.
