At the early stage, for processing mode of industrial wasteland is to replace it with a new overall landscape, and the original industrial area disappear. Later, because of the influence of urban public space renovation, preservation movement of industrial heritage, ecology and heritage tourism etc., some landscape designers try to usethe abandoned industrial site for the foundation, with the landscape design and public art techniques to transform the facilities and environment legacy in industrial waste ground, to presenting the new landscape significance and functional structure. The landscape after the reconstruction is called post industrial landscape. Because theconstitution factors of industrial wasteland environment is relatively complex, to ecological restoration the industrial waste site and surrounding environment and is difficult, to integration with the local area ecological environment requires a long process, if in accordance with the general design method to transfer are often easy to overlook the appropriate elastic of space and function. The elastic design refers to considering the uncertainty factor of the landscape design in the future, into the design system, it making the landscape to meet the changing needs of society and people. The elastic design requirement designers apply elastic thought through every stage, in th e planning design, construction, operation and maintenance and future reuse landscape development. Therefore, the introduction of elastic design can solve the difficult problems in the post industrial landscape design to some extent. The elastic design provides new ideas and scientific guidance for the design of post industrial landscape design.In this paper, firstly deeply research about the background of the formation of postindustrial landscape, the basic properties and elastic design theory development, practical activity etc. On the basis of these theories, put forward the post industrial landscape design requires theoretical guidance of elastic design, at the same time, post industrial landscape design can meet the applicable range of elastic design, and thensummarizes the elastic design principles, combined with examples to explain the application and value of elastic design in post industrial landscape. The research of thispaper enriches the theory and practice experience of elastic design and post industrial landscape design, to provide strong technical support to properly solve the relatedsocial and environmental issues, and provide a reference for further research.As the theoretical framework and the system is still not mature, this paper adopts the open type structure.
