Chinese ancient traditional architecture with wooden structure as the mainarchitectural form, soil, brick, tile, wood, stone as the main building material. But people tend to ignore the metal this very early in the construction of thismaterial. As the oldest artificial metal material, by virtue of its "strong","durable","Fire" and other characteristics, and combine features of traditionalChinese architecture, from the technical and artistic aspects of the processgradually opened up their fields. Shanxi region as the birthplace of the ancientChinese culture, with typical characteristics of architectural culture in northernChina. Forming a common architectural features both northern China, but alsohas the personality Shanxi local architectural features, both from the quality orquantity of the country are the best.Metal material originally used in ancient artifacts in comparison, but witheach rising toward each generation of metal technology, making use of themalso began extensive. In the Shang Dynasty have begun to use the records ofmetallic materials, to promote open slowly, and ancient buildings in China ledto the wood material, the lack of research and of this metal materials I use inthis regard is not only relevant points To compensate for this research gap, moreis to explore whether the ancient metal materials and metal materials in generaluse today have some ties and influence. Why is the first metal materialdominates today’s construction industry.Thesis is divided into five chapters. First, the introduction of the firstchapter describes the overall structure of the main part of the article, proposed research background, methods and meaning, through the basic data collectionand collation reading, drawn papers framework. The second chapter is a metalmaterial properties for the start point itself, the natural properties of metallicmaterials properties and humanities do a general understanding. The thirdchapter is on the development of metal materials made a rough review. In orderto better illustrate the historical development, the author will be divided intofour historical periods, each illustrating the extent of technology was typical ofmetal components and metal development. These four periods are: the QingDynasty, Qing and Han Dynasties, Song, Yuan/Ming and Qing Dynastiesperiod finally. Then the selection and mining, smelting technology, equipmentand raw materials processing technology of metal materials, elaborated eachdynasty these technology breakthroughs and progress to study explained. Thefourth chapter analyzes the metal materials used in Chinese traditionalarchitecture, there is the maintenance and use of sexual function, such as crampnext column, fixed nails, etc; with the main structural features, examples ofwhich have Wutai Mountain Palaces building; accessories sexualfunction-oriented, such as iron lion, Steel incense and decorative properties ofiron and some members; final production tooling tool building constructedusing mainly used for sexual function, etc., plus metal material corrosionprotection measures analysis to these four functional classification described. Finally, the metal material outlined in today’s tradition and continuity in the fifthchapter. In the course of the study by the author of the collection of raw data, alarge part of the books and online materials. After the accumulation ofinformation on the project for three years of graduate students, to the field tooksome photographs related to metal components for the actual analysis andmapping. To analyze the metal materials in the construction of the role playedby frontline experts and technical staff interviews, and with the leadership ofour teachers to discuss and influence on modern architecture resulting in, to geta more profound understanding.
