The Research Of Sustainable Development Of The Old Huizhou Traditional Settlement Space Environment With Old And New Regeneration Theory

The thinking of "urban renewal", "urban regeneration" and "urban renaissance" have significance on urban progress of urban construction. This series theories are often used to the research of how to deal the issue of extension, preservation and rehabilitation of the old building, environment and space of Chinese old cities. However, There was the difference between Chinese and western social culture and economic progress. China needs to integrate its characteristic of urbanization and western cities’ renewable thought to form elastic renewable theory. The renewable theory divided the elements in city’s space and environment into two perspectives, including new and old element respectively. Two parts are connected dialectical and isolate also. The process of evolution and development of space environment is the transformation between old and new elements. The old elements include traditional culture, old buildings and remains public facilities while new elements includes new components, humanities movements and construction materials. With the background of the progress of the requirement of modern cities’ function from humanities, the old elements should be replaced by new elements to promote the progress. But how to reserve the valuable elements from the old elements to optimize the relation with the new elements is the core issue that the renewable theory aim at on the process. Based on the old settlement of Huizhou, this dissertation will analysis optimization the relation between the affluent value of the old elements, and the potential activation of new element and the process to expound renewable theory.The progress of old traditional settlement of Huizhou is a typical practice of Chinese existed and new renewable theory that contains the formation of’Hui’culture, the one of Chinese three largest regional culture, which directly impacted on the formation of settlement. Huizhou traditional settlement experienced the transformation from "the old" to "the new" and virtuous regeneration cycle under impact of modern environment. This dissertation had analysis traditional Huizhou settlement space. The elements of traditional Huizhou settlement will be extracted and the content and value behind the elements will be analyzed. The old and new nature and value will be endowed to the settlement. Thus the elements, pattern, category, content and influence from the object of regeneration of the old and the new will be summarized from the process of progress of old traditional settlement of Huizhou from feudal to modern society.
