Research On The Construction Of Suburb Recreational Greenway Network

With the rapid development of science and technology, people’s pursuit for the spiritual life is also improved. People want to have leisure activities in the open space. The growing demands for leisure and recreation are needed to be satisfied. But the situation of lacking facilities for recreation in our cities makes this contradiction more prominent. At the same time, the suburban areas, where the city function and rural function mutually penetrate, social and economic developments are active, ecological environment is good, recreational resources are rich, are not fully developed and utilized. In recent years, the recreational activities are to be short-range. In this context, the suburb areas have advantages to offer citizens great recreational space and experience. The construction of suburb recreational greenway network can protect the natural and historical and cultural resources, expand the recreational open spaces, builds the green infrastructures.This paper summarizes the analyses the method of constructing greenway network at home and abroad, with proper improvement, preliminarily determine the construction procedures and methods of suburb recreational greenway network; according to the target of Lin’an recreational greenway network, combined with GIS and AHP to select 7 factors including soil suitability, terrain slope, land use type, people’s demands, walking distance accessibility of linear landscape resources, driving distance accessibility of patches of landscape resources and attraction distance of patches of landscape resources to do land suitability analysis. Then make classifications and evaluations about the recreational resources, integrate existing resources, select the layout and routs, form the recreational greenway network. The study concluded that:(1) the construction of suburb recreational greenway network is important and necessary both for the domestic greenway theory research and practice.(2)The results of empirical research about Lin’an have showed that, the method for the construction of suburb recreational greenway network has good operability in the node selection, land suitability analysis, evaluation and classification in recreational resources and routes selection.(3) It has confirmed that Lin’an has good conditions for the construction of recreational greenway network, and it guided and improved the construction of suburb recreational greenway network through practice.
