Study On Trail Design Of Mountain Park

With the rapid development of cities, it is more and more popular for citizens who had been living in the limited and monotonous space in a long time to go back to nature. Therefore the mountain parks in suburb is attracting people’s attention. Being the landscape carrier of mountain parks, the Trail is crucial in making landscape of mountain parks. Yet current domestic research on mountain parks mainly focuses on landscape Planning and designing, while the research on design of trail is in its start stage, specific analyses or discussions are still insufficient. As a result, there are many aspects need to be further discussed and studied.The thesis is divided into two parts, theories on trial design and practice design in real park.Firstly, the development and the research outline of mountain parks and trail, home and abroad, are concluded comprehensively. Concepts of mountain land, mountain parks and trail are defined with reference to bibliographies. Theories on the design of trail in mountain parks are illustrated in Landscape Engineering, Ergonomics, Environment-Behavior Study and Garden Aesthetics. Then, starting from discussion on the component of main landscape in trail, different functions in transportation, separation, sports, science and education scope are summed up. The paper also concludes the characteristic about trail. Different trails are put into different categories by Trails grades, forms, pavement, and roadbed. Finally, the design principle, art technique, layout method and route selection of trails in mountain parks are studied with related theories and trail construction experience home and aboard. The design of section in trail, the combination of trail with other landscape component and the detailed design of trails are analyzed in depth and systematically. Creative designs on humanization design and experience design of trails are also considered.On the basis of mountain park trail design study in theory, one case practice is carried out on trails design in the project of Taohualing Park in Changsha. According to the project overview, the project site are analyzed comprehensively and the general layout is decided. Then the route selection of trails in the park is detailed and chosen on the basis of Arc GIS theory. Considering the results of route selection and general layout of the park, trails are divided into three grades and four kinds of Trails sections in order to determine the optimal route layout. Finally, the detail design on route distribution, pavement form and structure are used by the four typical routes to accomplish the trail design.On the basis of the design of trails in mountain parks and the design of trails in Taohualing Park,hoping it can provide reference and basis for general trail design in mountain parks.
