Vehicle vibration mainly includes vehicle vibration and powertrain torsional vibration, which directly affect the vehicle performance, fuel economy, handling stability, comfort and safety of driving. As one of the main vibration source of vehicle vibration, engine excitation has become the focus of research of automobile vibration. This paper mainly studies the performance of engine and vibration of vehicle.Engine performance is calculated by using the traditional method based on the establishment of thermodynamic calculation model. The detailed mechanical model of the engine excitations is established, and mechanical model and mathematical model of V type engine excitation with parallel type connecting rod are created, and a variety of exciting force and exciting moment of the powertrain torsional vibration and vehicle vibration are studied by using MATLAB software.Through the actual engine excitation calculation, the theoretical comparison analysis and verification for the excitation force and moment caused only by the gas pressure and caused by the comprehensive engine excitation for Inline engine and V type engine with different angle are carried. The calculating method is simple, which can realize the general program, and provide accurate data for the improvement of vehicle vibration and powertrain torsional vibration research.Through the use of research methods by combining the theoretical calculation and mechanism analysis, excitation force and torque of modern vehicle caused by engine shafting torsional vibration, bending vibration, longitudinal vibration are simulated and analyzed, and combining the reduction of engine vibration and noise, and the improvement of vehicle ride comfort and other corresponding damping measures for existing vehicle, the correctness and applicability of the theoretical calculation are verified.
