Solar energy is a widespread and abundant clean energy, in recent years the cost of production and installation of solar panels is reduced and the PV power generation technologies are maturing, governments began to develop and use solar energy and establish photovoltaic power plants. It is significant for the use of solar energy resources to the greatest extent and optimization of photovoltaic power generation systems to study the power performance. The paper has analyzed the factors affecting the power performance of PV power plant, used index to assess the power performance, analyzed the reason for low power performance and made some improvements. Due to the partial shade impact on PV modules, proposed the immune optimization algorithm to improve power generation efficiency.Firstly, in the context of current situation of PV power plant at home and abroad, pointed out some problems existing in China’s PV power generation. Introduced the basic principles of PV power generation, composition and classification of system, traditional MPPT methods.Secondly, analyzed the factors affecting PV power generation, such as radiation, temperature, dust, obtained the affect results by actual operating data, and proposed some measures to improve the efficiency of PV power generation; introduced a set of assessment index to evaluate radiation resource and PV power generation, get results based on actual operating data and show phenomenon caused by the results.Moreover, due to the tilted angle of PV modules, analyzed the theoretical best angle for a given area based on sky diffuse radiation anisotropy model, compared the theoretical results with the actual results. By creating the Pareto diagram and curve graph between different tilted angle, the daily changes, monthly changes, seasonal changes and yearly changes of power generation can be analyzed, the best tilted angle is recommended in a certain time period.Finally, build PV array model, show power output curve of PV array with multiple peaks caused by partial shade, traditional MPPT methods can’t track the maximum power point. An immune MPPT method is proposed to track the global MPP. The simulation result show that the immune method has the ability to deal with the multiple maximum problem and can track the global MPP accurately and rapidly under both partially shaded conditions and no shaded conditions.
