Yunnan is a multi-ethnic province which has a long history. There are a lot of unique cultural wood structure constructions with a long history in the area. And the wooden buildings have great economic and cultural value. Wood structure buildings fire prone gradually attracted the attention of the whole society and countries. On the one hand, wood structure building fire will cause great damage; on the other hand, it seriously hindered the process of protection work of Ancient Architectural Buildings. Therefore, wood structure building fire is an important research content in the research field of fire. Most of wooden structures experienced a long history, which caused the fire safety spacing of the buildings can’t meet the requirements of the current standard. If the relevant departments implement the requirements of the current standard strictly, a large number of wooden structure buildings will be torn down, which is not what we hoped for. Thus, we need to confirm the fire safety spacing of the wooden structures based on the idea of performance reasonably according to the theory of the spread of fire. Because of the high cost of fire test, scholars at home and abroad usually used numerical simulation method to research the fire spread of the wooden structure buildings. When we use the numerical simulation method, the heat of reaction and the reference temperature have a great impact on the final simulation results. The reaction heat and the reference temperature with great differences affected by the environment temperature, material, humidity and atmospheric oxygen. This paper has done the following work:1. We completed a full scale experiment based on the typical wood structure houses in Lijiangarea. At the same time, we finished the numerical simulationby the computer to research the influence of the heat of reaction and the reference temperature on the final simulation results. The experimental results of the full scale experiment could be compared with the final simulation results to get the parameters of wood structure building which is suitable for Lijiang area.2. The author established model by using the software of FDS to research the spread of fire and the impact of comprehensive combustion on the surrounding environment when fire source at different positions based on the characteristics of Lijiang’s typical residential wood structure.3. The author simulated the heating process of the wood surface under the conditions of variable flow heat, and calculated the fire safety spacing which is suitable for the wood structure buildings in Lijiangarea.This paper analysis the spread of fire of the wood structure buildings and calculated the fire safety spacing which is suitable for the wood structure buildings in Lijiang area through FDS numerical. The conclusions of the study can provide reference for the protection of wood structure building, and provide the basis for risk evaluation of Engineering projects.
