Creation Of Architectural Sheng Jing

Under the large-scale city construction in the contemporary era, most architectures are only designed by a standard scheme to satisfy functional requirement. As massive architecture productions promoting economic growth, city becomes more and more artificial even mechanized. Due to the hi-tech materials and construction technology at present, function and form can not be the bottleneck of architecture anymore. Nowadays, material life becomes richer and richer while spirit is barren, architects should take the spiritual property of architecture seriously, and find Sheng Jing, a special artistic conception in Chinese traditional architecture and gardens in which people feel like living in nature back.Based on the background and purpose above, the thesis expounds the concept of Sheng Jing, and analyses the difference and connection among nature, gardens and architectural Sheng Jing. Definitely, architectural Sheng Jing derives from nature, based on it, this part analyses the difference between eastern and western view of nature, and the difference of architectures under the influence of these two views of nature. By means of analysing the difference between eastern and western architectures, the characteristic of naturality in eastern traditional architecture, and the essence that architectural Sheng Jing, an artistic conception of eastern architecture stemming from nature both are defined.The architectural Sheng Jing possesses three characteristics:complementariness, indistinction and naturality. These three traits, embodies not only in traditional and partial contemporary architectures, but also in Chinese traditional Culture and Arts, such as poetry literature, painting and calligraphy handicrafts, and so on. They prove that architectural Sheng Jing is rooted in tradition, and distinguishes from self-evidence and accurate manual work which are regarded as the characteristics of western architectural artistic conception.The thesis not only introspects the contemporary artificial architectures which are indifferent and emotionless, but also shows the yearning to traditional life attitude that lives in nature. According to the research, tries to prove that the spacial artistic conception exists in nature, traditional gardens and architecture can be created in contemporary architectures.
