Study On The Changes Of Eastern And Western Living Environment

With the vigorous development of the real estate, the landscape design of modern living environment has attracted more and more attention because people spend most of their time in the residential district, which is the basic living space. The residential environment is the place for people to conduct communications and activities, and it is also the place for people to interact with the nature and with other people. The living environment can meet the various requirements of people regarding living and life, so the favorable living environment is closely related with not only the living quality of the residents, but also the urban cultural environment. Consequently, it is the main target of residential construction to develop good living environment. The living environment studied in this paper refers to the outdoor environment of the residential district.During the current social transition period, China has been influenced by the western landscape mode, design thoughts and philosophy, which results in the fact that many domestic residential constructions blindly imitate the western mode with many problems in design. As a result, it is of urgent need to think about and conclude from the eastern and western garden culture as well as the design of living environment with the purpose of searching for practical methods.The paper is divided into five chapters. To begin with, the first chapter is an introduction which illustrates the background, purpose and significance of the study on living environment and analyzes the relevant domestic and international studies to determine the content, method and technical roadmap of the paper. Next, the second chapter describes the related concepts and theoretical basis for the study. It defines the related concepts of living environment, the theoretical basis of the study, as well as the components and functions of residential environment. Besides, the third chapter introduces the changes of eastern and western physical living environment and social factors. It studies the eastern and western physical living environment and social factors in different time periods for an analysis. What’s more, the fourth chapter is a comparative analysis towards the changes of eastern and western living environment. It comparatively analyzes the eastern and western natural environment and social factors in terms of the eastern and western design philosophy, the differences in garden elements, advantages and limitations. Finally, the fifth chapter is the conclusion and prospect.
