With the rapid development of industry around the world, such energy sources as gas, coal depleting day after day, new energy sources have received much more concern. Among them, wind power generation is widely-distributed, pollution-free, all-weathered. And the megawatt wind generator with large power has become the mainstream of wind power industry. Wind power is a clean and safe renewable source that is widespread, rich or almost inexhaustible. While the fossil energy is gradually exhausted, wind power generation has drawn more and more attention for its promising future, and made remarkable achievements. In recent years, the wind generator has a tendency of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) and larger stand-alone capacity. At the same time, it demands for higher operation performance. In this paper, the major components of the TFY2000permanent magnet wind generator are conducted finite element analysis and thus improved, which are based on a three-dimensional modeling software called Pro/Engineer, and a finite element analysis software named MSA. Visual Nastran. The main works are as follows:i. Analyze the stator core and the frame’s thermal shrinkable sleeve respectively, and calculate the intensity of bolts that function as connecting and hoisting by means of mechanical calculation, so as to provide a basis for building a model of simulated analysis.ii. Acquire the material parameters of components that show composite properties due to their different component materials and complex structure with a strain test system, assuring a correct model of finite element analysis, iii. Ascertain a properer way that the stator core and the frame are hoisted and placed after having a finite element statics simulation respectively, and verify the validity of the results by finite element analysis; Have a finite element statics simulation of the final assembly, the taper support and proofread the strength and stiffness by taking into consideration of the torque, axial force, radial force and comprehensive loading.iv. Improve the the wall thickNess and the way of welding frame, supporting rotor with an aim to simplify processing, providing that the electromagnetic parameter have no changes, then coMPare and simulate the improved structure.CoMPared with the traditional method, the finite element analysis method is simpler and more efficient, and can help take necessary preventive measures in case of the stress danger zone of the structure. Besides, it offers instructive suggestions for the safe operation and large-scale design of the unit, which helps research and develop the same type of motor.
