This pater first introduces the research and application of eccentrically braced steelframe in domestic and abroad. Then it introduces the development of energydissipation technology and the application of dampers in building structures andmainly focuses on the working principle and the function of viscous damper. Finally,the eccentrically braced structure is recommended to work with dampers to obtain adouble insurance for enhancing structural aseismic ability. Then use SAP2000, a finiteelement analysis software, to establish a high-rise eccentrically braced steel framestructure model. Through the response spectrum analysis and dynamic time historyanalysis, we obtain many reaction results of the structure under different seismicamplitude. As a comparison, we replace the eccentric brace with shear wall in twoframes of the structure to perform that the eccentric brace has sufficient lateralstiffness. According to national standard limits, some structure reactions are overrununder the rare earthquake. Hence, it’s necessary selecting damping methods to addviscous dampers in a particular floor to produce a damping structure by calculationand optimization. By comparing the response characteristics under the action ofdifferent magnitude earthquake between the original and damping structure, it showsthat the damper in structure has obvious effects in improving the seismic performance.The structural story drift and shear force has reduced in different scales with damper.The damping structure can meet the requirements of the specification.Thereafter, the Perform-3D software is used to continue the time history analysis ofthe structure. By comparing the time history curve between elastic-plastic and elasticanalysis, we find that after the elastic-plastic deformation, two kinds of curve begin todeviate. Besides, the energy dissipation mechanism of the structure is studied.Compared with the original structure, the seismic reducing ability of the dampingstructure is better because the viscous damper.In this paper, the analysis of high-rise eccentrically braced steel structure withdamper damping device could provide references to similar projects of high-risebuilding.
