| As the modification of Design Specification for Highway Alignment, many skew bridges have been built in highway and urban road. Accordingly, large-angle skew T beam bridges also increased. Its distribution of bearing reaction and twisting moment need to be analyzed furthermore.The paper obtained the bending moment and displacement of each beam under concentrated load by generalized beam-grid method and Matlab tools. Then numerical models were established by Midas Civil and Midas FEA. By adjusting the factors, the results from Midas and theoretical calculation were agreement. But with the increasing of angle, the error increased. So the generalized beam-grid method can not be simply used to calculate the large-angle skew T beam bridges.Grillage models were used to analyse the skew bridge’s mechanical characteristic under the action of even load which have different angles. It was summarized that obtuse’s bearing reaction and twisting moment increased as the angle increase, but the bending moment descreased.Proposed setting soft bearings to make the bridge reasonably, and concluded the principles how to adjust the bearing rigidity. After setting the soft bearings, the distribution of the bearing reaction and the internal force have been improved. In addition, the idea of using the air spring’s principle to make the air spring bearings is proposed. |
