Vibration is inevitably generated in the operation of a traction elevator. Its parasiticdynamic load wears out the whole elevator system. Also, the vibration and noise worsen theexperience of passengers. Therefore, it is an indispensible task in elevator industry to performa regualr inspection of the operation quality, send the vibration and noise signals to the server ofthe elevator in time, analyze the singals and check the quality of the operation of the elevator. This thesis develops a quality inspection system of elevators by integrating the technology ofGPRS.The first chapter illustrates the background and relevance of the research. The status quoof quality inspection system of elevators from home and abroad is introduced. Their strength andweakness are pointed out. Also, GPRS is proposed to be applied to inspection system. Thecontent and outline of this thesis are listed. The second chapter setup the hardware of the inspection system based onGPRS, completes the schematic diagram, and explains how the application of GPRS to thissystem works. The collection and storage of vibration and noise signals are accomplished usingthis system. The signals are sent to the server by GPRS-DTU.The third chapter develops a DSP program for the inpection system base on GPRS. Theflowchart of the operation system of DSP is presented. The tasks of signal collection, storage andtransmission are arranged. The fourth chapter develops a signal analysis software for the operation quality of theelevator that makes possible the reception of signal, the processing of data, and the output ofsignal. The fifth chapter carries out experiments to assess the effectiveness of the inspection system. The feasibility is studied and the accuracy is verified by the contrast test. The sixth chapter summarizes the whole content, and the outlook of this research in futureis released.
