When high-rise buildings appear constantly, the traction elevator has been applied widely as a vertical transport equipment of the high-rise building. In order to improve the transport efficiency, the speed of the traction elevator also increases. In the process of the running of the high-speed traction elevator, many unsafe accidents were caused by the elevator vibration, which impacts the safety and comfort of traction elevator. Under the suspended state of the traction rope, the characteristics of traction rope are easily affected by other parts of the elevator and the external excitation. The lateral vibration of elevator rope, which is caused by the change of the length and tension of traction rope, has important influence on the elevator vibration, so it is necessary for analyzing the lateral vibration of traction rope.The research object of this article is traction rope, its upper connects to the drum, its bottom connects to the lift car, its middle part is dangling. In the process of the running of the traction elevator, the dangling length of traction rope changes with the time, so the tension of traction rope also changes. In the study of this article, a vertical string with the variable length will simulate traction rope, and a lumped mass block will simulate the lift car, the lateral vibration equation of traction rope micro section is established by the Newton’s second law. When traction elevator is running at a constant speed, the article analyzes the lateral vibration of the traction rope under two kinds of working conditions. First condition is that lateral position of the traction rope points connecting the drum and the lift car are static, and using the perturbation method, the method of separation of variable gets the higher accuracy analytical solution of lateral vibration of traction rope. The characteristics and law of the lateral vibration of traction rope are studied, and the result of the article compares with existing result, the effectiveness of the parsing process and the method is verified. Another condition is that considering the roughness of the elevator guide rail causes lateral vibration of lift car, the article uses the harmonic excitation simulate this effect on the joint of the bottom connecting lift car of traction rope. Basing on the free vibration of first condition, the article gets the analytical solution of lateral vibration of traction rope when the bottom of traction rope has a simple harmonic excitation. The characteristics and law of lateral vibration of traction rope are studied with different parameters and different incentive features, the result proves that the lateral vibration of traction rope is the main cause of lift car vibration, at the same time,the study of this article provides certain theoretical support for the vibration control of elevator traction rope.
