As a kind of structure strengthening method of FRP, in recentyears has been gradually applied to modern architecture, contributing to the social and economic development, the structurestrengthened of the FRP is one of the hot issues aboutstrengthening research at home and abroad now. Conventionalstrengthening methods of FRP is FRP directly pasted on the bottomof the structure by the structural adhesive, the strengtheningmaterial completely exposed on the surface of structure, it has acertain impact on the durability of the structure strengthening. The paper introduces a new strengthening method-the near surfacedmounted method (NSM), the mechanical performance of reinforcedconcrete beams are the specific research and analysis of thestrengthening method. The paper study from bonding mechanism of concrete beamsstrengthened with FRP, on the basis of the existing of theexperimental research, the finite element model is established tosimulate the test beam by using ABAQUS software, finite elementsimulation results in good agreement with the experimental results. On this basis, the use of finite element software analysis theembedded length and slotting dimension of FRP effect on the mechanical performance of RC beam strengthened, and using thecross-sections methods for theoretical calculation and analysis. The analysis results show that: in a certain length range, flexural capacity of beams is increased with the increase of FRPstrengthening length, but the utilization rate of FRP materialhas decreased to a certain degree. In addition, through the finiteelement simulation and theoretical analysis, with the increase ofslotting dimension of beam strengthened, flexural capacityincreases, the FRP utilization rate has been improved.
