The Research And Design Of Multimedia Play Module In The Car-mounted Multimedia Information System

The car-mounted multimedia information system integrates car-mounted information, security, television, DVD/VCD/CD, the FM radio and so on as a single system. It also can realize various functions of a personal computer, therefore is also called the driving computer.This paper firstly introduces the background of the car-mounted multimedia system, the present development condition, and the real-life significance of R&D in the car-mounted multimedia system. Then, a complete solution of embedded system is proposed based on pepole's requirement and expectation. It's also based on the current development condition of the car-mounted multimedia system and the embedded system technique.This paper describes the design and realization of software and hardware of the car-mounted multimedia information system. Besides the features of guard against theft and alarm, communication and amusement, the system provides COSD (Character on Screen Display). In the project we choose FPGA as our hardware developing platform. In addition, FPGA chip has a system-on-circuit-programming feature and high-speed interfaces, which are available to image-processing.In the design of hardware, EP2C35 chip acts as main controller, which belongs to a series of Cyclone II on altera. The paper also provides the function module circuit, periphery interface circuit and basic unit circuit of main controller.The paper gives detailed description of the idea how the software and hardware work in cooperation. System modules are built by SOPC Builder, and user logic is generated by the hardware descriptin language VHDL, which is simulated on the QUARTUS II 5.0 platform. Meanwile, it describes how to control the communication of the function modules by software programming, and gives the programme flow chart of module initialization and controlment.
