With the progress of the economy,people’s lives become richer, people have quietly entered the age of electricity, electricity is closely related with people’s live.People can not live without it. However the Society that we live exists electrical fire hazards everywhere. In recent years, the electrical fire that the news media reported has caused a lot of economic losses and casualties,which has made a call for mankind invisibly. In order to avoid electrical fires bringing the harm of the economy and life to people,it is very necessary to design a simple and precise electrical fire detection device which can monitor the electrical fire signal in advance.This paper designed a residual current electric fire detector based on16-bit microcontrollers MSP430,which achieves real-time measurement of the residual current and the monitoring residual current In front of the electrical circuit. When the residual current value is greater than the set alarm value,the detector will send out sound and light alarm signal and the DO output signal, which informs the user residual current value of the electrical line is too large and it’s needed to check and exclude the wiring fault in time for preventing electrical fires. The detector also can display the residual current real value, which is convenient for the user to view real-time value of residual current and understand the working state of the electrical line. In addition, the detector is also equipped with DI fire control function which detects the smoke and temperature signal of the external to make a sound and light alarm, the DO output signals.lt can monitorg the electrical fault of external system timely and prevent the occurrence and continuation of an electrical fire. The two combined can be a full range of monitoring for users of electricity lines, greatly reduce electrical fire hazards.The detector has a good man-machine interactive interface. Users can set the alarm valus, alarm delay valus and DO output signals according to the size of the residual current in different site, making it easy for users to know safety warning and remove the fire hazard timely. The residual current electrical fire detector of the system design has simple structure and practical, which can be used in residential areas, factories, warehouses and other places where electrical line is more complex. Nowadays It has a certain practical value whenever needs to guard against the electrical fire.
