In this paper, according to the situation of the development of the waterfront landscape design in our country, first to define the waterfront landscape design concept, and then analyzes the origin and development of waterfront landscape design both at home and abroad, and then discusses the method and technical route of urban waterfront landscape design, and finally through the analysis of Qingdao Li Cun riverside of water landscape design as an example, in-depth study and exploration of the waterfront landscape design of urban environment.Qingdao as an international tourist city and the national famous historical and cultural city, is one of the central cities in eastern coastal areas in China. Qingdao waterfront, with its unique natural conditions and diversity of culture and become the most distinctive urban waterfront landscape zone. Therefore, this article make Qingdao coastal area as the research object of waterfront landscape design, has certain representativeness.In this paper, through the analysis of past successful cases of waterfront landscape design, is put forward to purifying water body, plants landscape structure construction, such as emphasis on urban context embodies design gimmick. For Li Cun he landscape, refining four nodes, such as the entrance square design, over the bridge landscape design, belt corridor landscape design, leisure green design. From these four nodes, and sums up four types of waterfront landscape expression. Combined with management along the road and landscape design, garden road can be divided into fitness trails, waterfront trail, aims to form a continuous slow system, connect the landscape nodes into a chain, which play a guidance effect of landscape.
