At present, the reduced thrust take-off of large turbofan engines have been usedquite mature, which not only improved the security but also brought huge economicbenefits. As for turboprop aircraft, reduced power take-off has not been used. In thispaper, the reduced power take-off methods of MA600turboprop aircraft wereresearched. In this paper, the related concepts of take-off performance and airworthinessrequirements were described. The takeoff performance of MA600was analyzed. Theimpacts to high pressure rotor speed NH, internal temperature of the turbine ITT, hotsection life limits, engine security, fuel flow, engine noise and exhaust pollution whichcased by reduced power take-off were analyzed. Thus the necessity of reduced powertake-off of MA600aircraft was proved. Moreover, feasibility analyzes have been donefrom the aspects of MA600take-off performance margin and operability. By analyzingthe engine fuel system, control system and temperature characteristics, the theoreticalbasis of reduced power take-off were established. On the basis of the aforementioned theory, reduced power take-off software andoperating procedure were designed in accordance with the relevant data in the manualof MA600. Then the data calculated by this software was analyzed, the results showedthat it had limitations and flaws when use the assumed temperature in MA600aircraft.To solve this problem, an innovative method was proposed which was called assumedtemperature-altitude method. Then the security of assumed temperature-altitude powerreduction was analyzed and the precautions were summarized. Finally, the feasibility of reduced power take-off of MA600was proved by testingon the mechtronix MA600. By analyzing the testing data, the correctness of this article’stheory was proved to a certain degree.
