Manufacturing industry is a pillar industry and also the base of the national economy. With the increasingly fierce market competition, the manufacturing industry is facing many problems. Given limited resources, reducing production costs, shortening manufacturing cycles, ensuring timely delivery, at the same time, improving reputation and winning a broader market and more profit have become important conditions for manufacturing enterprises to remain invincible position in the fierce market competition at home and abroad. Therefore, nearly all manufacturing enterprises are looking for advanced and suitable production scheduling accesses to effectively optimize the allocation of resources and improve the efficiency of production, operation and management.The research background, purpose and significance of this paper are firstly introduced and reviewed comprehensively, as well as the development, research status and application of workshop production scheduling theory, and the scheduling-related economic theory, as well as related principles and scheduling optimization model in enterprise management is also discussed.The based on the information gained from in-depth investigation production workshop, including the company profile, products, plant layout, production processes, institutional settings, the current production scheduling method, current status of workshop production scheduling, and so on, the data model of the cut-off valve production workshop has been established; and then the scheduling scheme of the cut-off vale production workshop has been worked out by using coding and decoding of genetic algorithms and mathematical software to write the running programs of genetic algorithm. And the basic scheduling strategies of the company’s production department is obtained by the application of "5W1H law" and "ECRS principles" for process analysis of the Assembly plant; then combining the actual situation of workshop, the scheduling strategy of the production department is analyzed and improved, including analysis and improvement of production scheduling organizations, bottlenecks and workshop managers’ scheduling consciousness, as well as applied analysis of priority scheduling rules; finally feasibility plans have been proposed for scheduling strategies.
