Urban road traffic network is composed of many nodes and sections which makeup a complex network. Some of the nodes and sections are highly susceptible toevents such as natural disasters, bad weather, traffic accident and after damage theycan cause large area network traffic congestion or even complete collapse, thus losethe function of traffic and cause huge economic loss. Identifying the key nodes andsections of urban road traffic network as the core for regional traffic control andmanagement, and congestion warning, plays an important role for preventing andcontrolling the spread of the heavy traffic; in the emergency management of roadnetwork, regarding them as the core for prevention, preparedness, response and rescue,will be twice the result with half the effort in terms of emergency management.Therefore, identifying the key nodes and sections of urban road traffic network is oneof the important technical problems for the current urban traffic control andemergency management.The researchers at home and abroad have made many achievements on keynodes and sections identification method’s research in the urban road traffic network,but there are still many deficiencies. One of the main problems is that mostresearchers only consider road traffic network topology characteristics, however,traffic flow running state is not taken into account for impact on the identification ofkey nodes and sections.Based on the above analysis, the key nodes and sections of urban road trafficnetwork identification method is studied in this paper. The main research contentincludes the following several parts:Firstly, put forward the definition and classification of key nodes, and thenconsider characteristics of city road network topology and traffic flow characteristics.Based on the complex network theory, define the betweenness and average pathlength rate based on travel time. With the node degrees, queue length, saturation anddelay, they constitute the evaluation index system of urban road traffic network.Design a method of urban road traffic network key nodes identification based on the weighted grey correlation analysis.Secondly, put forward the definition and classification of key sections. Accordingto the connotation of key sections, with the aspect of sections failure probability andthe impact of failure, respectively establish sections failure probability calculationmodel and the failure impact identification method, and multiply them as thecalculation model to identify the key sections.Finally, this paper gives an example analysis of the road traffic network inChangchun which includes Yatai street, Jiefang road, Minkang road and Sandao street,and the result shows that the proposed method is feasible and effective.
