In recent years, tourism and real estate have become important supporting industries in China, which occupied significant positions in developing economics. Along with traveling become a new life style, the developing of the second residential districts in growing numbers has contributed to improve the regional economics and local income.However, because of the lack of practical experiences and theoretical researches in developing of coastal holiday settlements, the contradiction between supply mode of communal facilities and the actual need of the second residential district has become increasingly prominent. The shortage of in-depth study on residential needs to settlement construction, and lack of match construction rules to specific coastal holiday travel settlements lead to plenty of problems in developing constructions, which belongs to chaotic developing state.Currently, most of studies have been developed from the perspective of tourism geography, industrial economics, marketing and national standards, buy not much in the field of urban planning or interdisciplinary researches. The researches concerning communal facilities of coastal holiday settlements remain blank.This paper is aimed at learning about residents’needs to communal facilities in coastal holiday settlements by researching the typical districts in Shandong Yantai Longkou coast and Hebei Suizhong developing region. First, conducted a field survey about the sample districts to learn about its facility status. Then, sent the questionnaire to local residents. Finally, summarized the characteristics of the coastal resort tourism and residential settlements and compared with the existing urban settlements control index to propose the suggestions to proper construction index. I hope to provide a reference to future coastal holiday residential construction and to improve the configuration index of Chinese communal service facilities.
