China is a large country of automobile manufacture as well as automobile customer, domestic demand of automobile tires is growing so quickly. Wire Loop is an important part of the composition of the tire, the main role of wire Loop is to fit the tires firmly on the rim, the tire suffer a variety of external force in the process of moving. The quality of wire loop hub unite directly determines the security of vehicle, so the demand of inner perimeter measuring instrument of wire loop is very urgent.Based on the structure and materials characterization of bead, this article introduced the main structure and material properties of wire loop and the main technical solutions of inner perimeter measuring instrument of wire loop. Based on the comparison and analysis of technical solutions, the ultimate solution is to use a dedicated round tooling for the measuring of bead. According to the different size and dimensions of bead, a dedicated round tooling with five steps is designed. Model specification of cylinder is determined by calculating and simulating of the stress and deformation of bead. Counterweight is used to improve the efficiency of the device using chain drive. The size of the main parts of inner perimeter measuring instrument of wire loop is determined by the design calculations, then, to refine the structure of equipment. A three-dimensional model of the measuring instrument is built by computer.Omron CP1E PLC is used as the master controller and MCGS TPC as the display device. CP1E PLC comes with analog input and output interfaces, I/O interfaces can meet the needs of control system. PLC can communicate directly with the touch screen, formatting an independent control system. The structure of control system is simple, with high cost performance, but the stability of the system has improved. According to the measuring principle of inner perimeter measuring instrument of wire loop, the author wrote the PLC control program and debugged the program online. The author utilizes the built-in configuration function of the MCGS touch screen in order to achieve human-computer interaction, the equipment operator carry out the measurements visually on the touch screen.
